Help & how-tos
Short videos and written steps for everything in Tallé.
Every topic below has a one-minute video and the same instructions written out, so you can read them instead of watching if that's easier. Nothing here leaves your device — these are just walkthroughs of the app you already have.
Getting Started
A two-minute tour of Tallé — what the main screens do and where to begin.
- Open Tallé. There's no account to create and nothing to sign in to — the app is ready to use straight away.
- Add your income first. Budgets are built from what you actually earn, so start there.
- Set up a budget or two. Give your regular spending categories a monthly limit.
- Record entries as you go. Tallé tracks each one against the right budget automatically.
Add Income
Record what's coming in, so your budgets have something to work from.
- Open the Income screen and tap the add button.
- Enter the amount and a short label — for example "Paycheque" or "Freelance".
- Choose how often it arrives and set the date it lands.
- Save. Your income now shows against your budget totals.
Add a Budget
Set a spending limit for a category and watch it through the month.
- Open the Budgets screen and tap the add button.
- Pick a category — groceries, transport, anything you want to keep an eye on.
- Enter the amount you want to spend in that category each month.
- Save. The budget bar fills as you record entries against it.
Add an Entry
The thing you'll do most — logging what you just spent.
- Tap the add button from the home screen.
- Type the amount and choose the category it belongs to.
- Add a note if you want to remember what it was for — this is optional.
- Save. The entry is counted against that category's budget right away.
Edit an Entry
Fix an amount, change a category, or correct the date after the fact.
- Find the entry in your list of recent activity.
- Tap it to open its details.
- Change whatever needs changing — amount, category, date, or note.
- Save. Budget totals update to match.
Delete an Entry
Remove something you logged twice or entered by mistake.
- Find the entry in your list of recent activity.
- Open it and choose delete.
- Confirm. The entry is removed from your device and its category total is adjusted.
Export Data
Your records are yours — take a copy out of the app whenever you like.
- Open Settings and go to Export.
- Choose the date range you want to include.
- Pick a format and tap export.
- Send it wherever you want — email it to yourself, or save it to your files. The export is created on your device.
Set Preferences
Currency, appearance, and the other small settings that make Tallé yours.
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- Set your currency and date format so amounts display the way you expect.
- Adjust appearance and reminders to suit how you use the app.
- Changes save as you make them — there's no separate confirm step.
Using Smart Fill
Let Tallé pre-fill the details of entries you record often.
- Start a new entry and begin typing a description.
- Tap a suggestion when one appears — Smart Fill offers entries that match ones you've made before.
- Check the details it filled in and adjust the amount if it's different this time.
- Save. Suggestions are built only from your own entries, on your device.
