Terms of Use

Last updated: [DATE]

The short version

Tallé is a personal, on-device budgeting tool provided as-is. You're responsible for the data you enter, it isn't financial advice, and use of the app is at your own risk. The full terms are below.

1.Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Tallé mobile app (the "app"). By downloading, installing, or using Tallé, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

2.Description of the app

Tallé is an on-device personal budgeting tool for Android and iOS. It helps you record and organize your own transactions, budgets, income, and spending categories. All of your data is stored locally on your device — Tallé has no accounts, no servers, and no cloud sync. It is a tool for your own personal money tracking, and nothing more.

3.License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Tallé for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, redistribute, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or otherwise exploit the app or any part of it except as permitted by applicable law or the terms of the app store from which you obtained it.

4.Your responsibilities

Tallé simply records and organizes the information you give it. You are responsible for:

Tallé does not verify, validate, or correct the information you enter, and any conclusions you draw from it are your own.

5.Not financial advice

Tallé is a budgeting and record-keeping tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing in the app should be interpreted as such. Any figures, summaries, or projections the app displays are for your personal informational use only. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. You are solely responsible for your own financial choices.

6.Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of defects, or that it will meet your requirements.

7.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event shall Tallé, its creator, or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses — arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because your data is stored only on your device, we are not responsible for any loss of that data. Your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it and uninstall it.

8.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted within the app or on our website. Your continued use of Tallé after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

9.Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Nova Scotia for the resolution of any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the app.
